Norrender Wordie Debrah (Mrs.) MCIM, EMBA, FCIIG
Managing Director

She is currently the Managing Director of NSIA Insurance Company. She joined the Company as General Manager Operations in Sept 2018.

NORRENDER Wordie Debrah started her professional career in 1999 with Global Data International, after graduating from the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK (CIM). Returning to Ghana in 2002, she joined Vanguard Assurance Company Ltd where she rose through the ranks to head the Broker Unit.

Her 16 years expertise spans across the areas of Workgroups and Branch Operations Management, Underwriting, Claims, Reinsurance, Risk Management, and Projects such as bancassurance, e-insurance and Insurance on wheels.

She is a Chartered Marketer, a Fellow in Insurance, and holds master’s in strategic and project management (EMBA) from the Paris Graduate School of Management.

Aaron Packeys
General Manager, Finance

Aaron was appointed the General Manager–Finance on 11th July 2016 to partner the Managing Director with strategic finance, investing and accounting decisions to drive revenue growth and create shared-value within the structured governance, regulatory and risk environment. He has modernized the legacy settings and improved enterprise analytics with a focus on financial planning and analysis. He led the team and processes that got NSIA Ghana rated BBB+ by the Global Credit Rating (GCR), South Africa. His experience spans financial and management reporting, budgeting, analytic, taxation, treasury & investment management, credit control and regulatory reporting in mobile commerce, telecoms, health insurance and non-life general insurance.

Prior to joining the NSIA family, Aaron served as Finance & Reporting Manager for the Health Insurance Business at Metropolitan Ghana, a member of the financial services group; Metropolitan International (MMI, SA) between the July 2014 and July 2016. He served as controller for both the Administrator and the Mutual scheme with over 17,000 members under management. With the reputation as the turnaround manager, Aaron handled the seamless accounting transition and due diligence of revenue and cost from Mutual scheme to Private Commercial turning the corner to profitability.

He has also worked with the telecom giant, Airtel Ghana where he started of as an Accounting Officer and rose through the ranks to the position of an Accountant, handling different responsibilities in mobile commerce (Airtel Money), inventory, fixed assets, Interconnect & Roaming. He handled the accounting, analytics and reporting of revenue (incl. Accounts Receivable), cost (incl. Accounts Payable), and settlement of key accounts with the 5 local telecom operators (Vodafone, MTN, GLO, Tigo, Expresso), 8 international Carriers (AT&T, Belgacom, France Telecom, British telecom etc.) and inter company buckets with all 18 operating countries within Bharti Airtel Group, contributing over 30%+ of Airtel Ghana’s revenue. As a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana he has an outstanding knowledge in International Financial reporting standards (IFRS). He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration (Accounting option) from the University of Ghana Business School. Aaron embodies everything teamwork, excellence and he is very proficient with Advanced Excel and modelling. He has attended key courses and possesses strong communication and team leadership dynamic skills.

Raphael Ebitey-Agbozo
Head, Internal Audit

Raphael is a Chartered Certified Accountant with many years of experience. He holds an MSc degree in Strategic Management from the University of Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom as well as a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Cape Coast. Raphael worked with KPMG, an international firm of Chartered Accountants before joining NSIA. He was appointed the Internal Auditor of NSIA in July, 2014.

Francis Opoku (Mr.)
Brand/ Innovation & Agency Management

Francis Opoku is an astute Marketing and Business Development Professional with an enormous experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), Service and Financial industries. Prior to his appointment to his current position, Francis Opoku was the lead Consultant to Critical Linx Consults a local Marketing and Business Development Consultant firm in Ghana which assists Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Corporate leadership, Business development and Marketing strategies. He was also the Commercial Director for Ocean Spring Ghana Limited a member of Capital Group and reported to the Managing Director.

Integral to this role was the formulation and implementation of Sales and Marketing strategies in the Commercial Department. Francis planned, monitored and controlled all Sales and Marketing activities of the company including maximum distribution of the company’s products across country in order to maximize sales and ensure the maintenance and growth of its market share.

Francis has over twenty 20 years with varied Commercial leadership experience with The Equatorial Coca- Cola Bottling Company Limited with offices in eight countries across West and North Africa. He played varied roles in The Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company Ghana Limited and acquired vast experience in the Commercial leadership and Marketing Operations space. These include Senior Regional Commercial Manager, National Key Accounts Manager (Business to Business), Trade Marketing and Events Manager. Channel/Merchandising Manager, Consumer Response Coordinator among many others and chalked numerous successes and awards.

Francis holds Masters in Business Administration (Marketing) from University of Leicester, United Kingdom, Higher National Diploma in Marketing from Kumasi Technical University, and has participated in numerous courses and training from highly recognized institutions like CEIBS and British Council among others.

Currently Francis is a board member for Slamms Technology a US base technology firm with a subsidiary in Ghana.

A Board Member Impact GH a non-denominational Christian Group in the U.K and Ghana, An Advisory board Member for SIFE (Takoradi Polytechnic Branch), A volunteer with Golden Chapter Foundation (NGO for the Aged) and a Pastor in Calvary Charismatic Centre (C.C.C.).

Samuel K. Ohene
Risk And Compliance Manager

Samuel Kofi Ohene is a versatile Risk Manager with both Non-Life and Life insurance industry experience. His experience spans across client relationship management, insurance underwriting, actuarial, risk and compliance functions. Prior to joining NSIA, he worked with Donewell Insurance and GN Life Assurance companies in the capacities of Officer-In-Charge, Risk Unit and Operations Coordinator, Actuarial and Compliance respectively and was instrumental in establishing and implementing the firms' risk management frameworks.

He is a certified risk manager with a post graduate degree in Financial Risk Management (UGBS), a Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science (KNUST) and a member of the Global Academy of Risk Professionals and the Actuarial Society of Ghana.

Samuel is a writer, public speaker and innovative leader who enjoys adding value to teams through problem solving. His other interests lie in mentoring youth and aiding social entrepreneurs.

Kwame Addo-Buahing
Head, Management Information Systems

Kwame Addo-Buahing is a Sharp-witted Information Technologist whose rich experience and work span across Financial and Information Technology industries in Ghana.

As an expert in Application Systems Development, Information/Cyber Security, Change, Project, Compliance and Database Management, Kwame has impacted positively the operations of many Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across Ghana for over fifteen (15) years.

He provided strong leadership and direction to Kwahu Rural Bank while serving as its Head, Technology and E-Banking.

He was instrumental in the implementation of xCore Flex Bank software during his tenure as Systems Administrator at Commerz Saving & Loans, and successfully led the designing and implementation of Nordcom Group’s Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) System.

Kwame holds BSc. Information Communication & Technology from Presbyterian University College and a Master of Science degree in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics from KNUST. If he is not working, he spends his free time with his family.

Mary Anne Mwini
Human Resource Manager

Mary Anne Mwini is a strategic and innovative Human Resource Executive who translates company’s vision into Human Resource initiatives that improve employee engagement, performance, growth and profitability.

She is an empowered leader who supports companies and top Management with a unique skill of harnessing the full potentials of the varied competencies of human capital which is every organization’s greatest asset.

She is also a genuine influencer who thrives on challenges and always prepared to drive visions and strategies into achievable and value-added goals. 

Mary Anne is a versatile person with varied experiences in her career. Prior to her appointment as Human Resource Manager, she worked in various capacities as the Accra Branch Manager, Head of Administration and Senior Claims Officer in the NSIA Insurance Company Ltd. These roles gave her the responsibility of managing direct business, developing strategies to grow revenues from various channels, managing corporate resources, human resource, and maximization profits through prudent claims adjustment.

As a Human Resource Practitioner, workplace professionalism, confidentiality, honesty integrity, good manners and attitude are her hallmarks. Mary Anne is people-oriented and stands to promote equity at workplace.

Mary Anne is a member from the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management, Ghana, holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and a Diploma in Management Studies from Ghana Institute of Management and Professionals Administration (GIMPA) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies from the University of Cape Coast.

Ben Gustave Barth
Chairman

Ben is a seasoned, finance and consulting executive with over 18 years’ experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity and Strategy Consulting. He possesses a proven track record of deal execution, transaction structuring and managing investment portfolios across the West African sub-region. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Axcero Advisors, a West African focused Advisory firm that offers comprehensive corporate advisory and investment banking services to corporate, Institutional, Government and Government-related clients within the sub-region.

Through his career, Ben has held senior executive management positions with the following companies: Senior Partner, Highland Group USA, Vice President Africa, Chester Engineers USA, Jonah Capital (South Africa and Ghana), Citigroup (USA), Ecobank (West Africa) and Stanbic Bank (Ghana, Nigeria). He also serves as non-executive board director of First Atlantic Bank and Trust Logistics Limited, and on the Advisory Council of the Sam E. Jonah School of Business.

He graduated First Class Honours from the University of Ghana Business School and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Jean Kacou Diagou

Jean Kacou DIAGOU serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of NSIA Participations; consisting of a Holding, 22 insurance companies and 2 banks in 12 countries in West and Central Africa S.A. He is a professional and an expert in the industry with over 40 years experience in Insurance. Before establishing NSIA, he worked with the UAP. He contributed very actively to the restructuring of the banking and insurance sector particularly through his participation in the preparation of the CIMA Code, a regulation which is commonly applicable in 14 African countries. Mr. DIAGOU is a Member of the Board of Directors of CICARE, Lomé, the President of the Federation of west African Business Organizations (FOPAO) and member of the Management Board of CEPIC.

Benedicte Janine Kacou Diagou

Janine Diagou is currently the Group Managing Director of NSIA Participations. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from IFAM Paris and a Master of Science in Finance from Middlesex University, London. She joined the NSIA Group in 1999 as the Director responsible for audit and control management of the Ivorian subsidiary. In this position for five years, she honed her knowledge of the group. She was named CFO of NSIA Ivory Coast in 2004, then NSIA Participations, and in 2006, played a key role in the acquisition of BIAO bank, the oldest bank in Ivory Coast which is now the third ranking bank on the Ivorian market. She was promoted in 2011 to the function of deployment of the strategy of Group NSIA business

Bene Boevi Lawson

Bilingual and Holder of a master's degree in law and a diploma from the National Insurance School of Paris (France), He was Deputy Managing Director of the Togolese insurance group before being subscriber and Regional director of Africa RE Abidjan. He serves as Group Managing Director and is in Charge of The Insurance Pole at NSIA Participations S.A. Mr. Lawson has been a Director at African Reinsurance Corporation since 2015 and became a Director in NSIA Insurance Limited on June 28, 2011. Bene LAWSON is a member of the Institute of Administrators in South Africa, France and Canada. He has been a director in charge of the governance of the NSIA Group.

Kwesi Tetteh Dadzie

Mr. K. T. Dadzie is a Great and known entrepreneur in Ghana with strong business acumen for forex trade and Open market investment. He has been a Business Executive in the areas of Open Market Investment, Creation and Management of Forex Bureau, Developing and Managing Hotel Resorts and Money Transfer Operations.

K. T Dadzie has over 34 years’ Corporate leadership experience in the financial and leisure industries in Ghana and currently the Chairman of The 1st African Group Limited, in that capacity he oversees the operations of eight (8) Forex Bureaus across Ghana. A board Director for eight financial institutions and Hotels in Ghana. The President of Ghana Forex Bureau Association (GAFORB).

Mr. K. T. Dadzie is married to Mrs. Gifty Affenyi- Dadzie and enjoys playing squash. He attended Wesley Grammar Secondary School 1968 to 1973

Abiba Zakariah

Dr. Abiba Zakariah is the Group Chief Operations Officer of WAICA Reinsurance Company limited.

She holds a Doctorate in Management Programme from Swiss Management Centre, Geneva, Switzerland a Master's Degree in Marketing from the University of Ghana, Legon. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Institute of Risk Management Professionals Ghana and a Chartered Marketer, has attended several courses both local and international and is currently a student at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Saltpong and a law student at KAAF university, Accra Ghana.

Dr. Abiba Zakariah has over twenty-five years' working experience. She is a visiting lecturer at the West African Insurance Institute, a resource person at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the Ghana Insurance College. She has presented several lectures/speeches on different topics in sub-Saharan African. She is also a council member of the Institute of Risk Management Professionals Ghana.

She has served in various capacity in the country. In the insurance industry she was the Chairperson of Chartered Insurance Ladies Association, a project manager of the Agric Insurance Pool, a member of the Agricultural Insurance Pool Steering and Technical Committees, the “No Premium No Cover” Committee and the reinsurance Committee and was a council member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She was the Group Chief Operations Officer of TG Holdings until February 2018 and the Managing Director of Ghana Re until August 2017.

Dr. Abiba Zakariah Chairs the Bluerose Construction Ltd Board, a member of the Board of NASIA Insurance Company, Priority Insurance Company, CDH group of Companies Ltd and Sureway Assemblies of God Church. She chaired the Ghana Oil and Gas Board and served on the following Boards; Ghana Reinsurance, Hollard Insurance Ghana, Unique Life and the Ghana Agric Insurance Pool.

As a motivational speaker she has spoken in a number of institutions including the University of Ghana, Legon and the SOS Hermann Gmeiner college in Ghana. She also posts daily motivational quotes on ‘YourQuote’, Facebook and mentor’s some troubled teenagers. She was awarded by the Northern Youth for Peace and development for her contribution to National Development in 2017.

Almamy K. Timite

Almamy K. TIMITE is the Deputy Chief Operations Officer, Insurance Division of NSIA Group which he first joined in 2017 as Regional Director, West Africa. Prior to that, he served as the Regional Director Anglophone Countries for SUNU Assurance Group and Managing Director of SUNU Group’s life insurance subsidiary in Cote d’Ivoire.

Before joining the insurance industry in 2012, he was a renowned leader, strategic thinker and business developer who worked in various multinational companies such as The Coca-Cola Company, SIFCA Group and Ernst & Young.

As such, his 25-year diverse experience affords him a high level of adaptability in strategic, operational and transactional competences across various sectors such as Finance, FMCG, Agro-industry and Insurance. He currently sits on the Board of a few insurance subsidiaries of NSIA Group, and he serves as the chair of the environmental, social and governance Board committee of Gaselia Industries Group, one of the largest homegrown non-alcoholic beverages groups in West Africa.

Fluent in French and English, he trained as electrical engineer in France and holds an MBA from Emory University, USA.
